Kirsten Dunst to Direct Dakota Fanning in Her Debut at the Helm for 'The Bell Jar'
Kirsten Dunst has a history of working with acclaimed directors, and now she's ready to take everything she's learned and have a go at the gig herself.
While it's been knowledge since she let it slip during Midnight Special press rounds, she has confirmed that she will be adapting Sylvia Plath's 1963 novel The Bell Jar. Dakota Fanning will take the lead role as mentally ill Esther Greenwood, who returns home after a magazine internship in NYC.
Production is to begin early 2017, and it will be interesting to see just what she can bring to the table. There's no word on whether she will also play an acting role in the film.
